Pastor Henry L. Johnson, III
The Rev. Henry L. Johnson III has served as Pastor of the Union Grove Baptist Church since September, 1994. He is a graduate of Barracksville High School, Barracksville, WV. He earned degrees from Anderson School of Theology, Anderson, IN. and Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, OH. He has also served as adjunct professor at Lorain County Community College teaching African-American History and visiting lecturer at the Case Western Medical Center on African-American History. Rev. Johnson is the author of a Master Thesis, “The National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. and America: A Litany of Unity".
Rev. Johnson, a native from Akron, Ohio; eldest son of Dora Mae Johnson and the late Rev. Henry Johnson, Jr. Married to Kathy D. (Alexander) Johnson, and they have four children: Blandon, Matthew H. (Cortney) and Mark L.(Heather) Johnson, Sr., one daughter Annetta Hatch; they six grandchildren, Langston, and Maya Hatch, Mark Jr., Jonathan, Victoria and Matthew Jr. Johnson.
In his 41 years of ministry he has been blessed to pastor three Churches:
